Doing the hot water dance

Posted:

Well you know, like a rain dance, only dancing and hoping the hot water comes back. Seems that the boiler blew and one needs to be imported from Omaha. I think it had dishtunk in the critical need detector’s connectagazoink. You know those critical need detectors—they’re always the first parts to go, whatever they may be. And a quiet birthday it was, the planned company unable to make it by Saturday evening.

Tomorrow is...

Happee Birthdaze to mee!! Yes, 29 and holding, 12 years running!! Hope we have hot water by then at home, as the hot water heater I gather, took summer vacation in this polar weather yesterday. Or rather, it should have waited til summer to leave. We’ll have to have a kettle of water by the stove with a candle in it, if that’s the case.

7 below along with snow

Not a major amount of snow accumulation this storm, but enough snowpack to cause something in the midst of an hour or so plus for a 3 mile commute last night. Boulder has thiese new instant fine laws for speed limit exceeding. Maybe like in the range of $50 to $1000, up to 20 miles over. It’s amazing to watch folks in this weather in range rovers plow through well-designated school zones 20 miles over.
Kind of goes along with the mentality of someone making a turn and finally putting an end to my cane, which was on the way out anyway, down in Littleton. Oh well. People drive as they wish, don’t they??

A wonderful start to the holidaze.

A great gathering, marvelous cooking, along with lotsa Monopoly Uno playing and so forth, made for a great holiday all nighter!!

More Pre Holidaze Musings

It is also the time of year where begins the festival of often changing answering machine messages. So remember, if you ***do call, and you hear something odd for the holidays, yes, you’ve reached the right number. It all starts with the very popular and most requested Thanksgiving message. It’s been requested year after year for going on 17 years or so now. After last year’s annual holiday comedy and or riffraff tape production, the home equipment we were using breathed it’s last right as the finishing touches were going to press. Hopefully I can slap something together by next week, and plan to put something out on time. For those who don’t have any of these annuals, drop a private note with your postal and we’ll send you all the back issues. Some folks need last year’s again, as I had a run of short tapes for whatever reason. I will send along reruns for those who need them. Soon, the transition will have to be made to C D, as cassettes go out of production in
And to hear the holiday answering machine, the number is as always, shown at the bottom of the main page.2008. Enjoy your Thursday, and seeya in New York December 22, thru Jan 2!!

Off we go for the holidaze!!

I now attempt this again, as the blogware keeled over while I was writing before. Tis that time of year again. The beginning of the holidaze season, and lots of things probably with seasoning!! We’ll be off to Littleton Thursday til Friday. Then of course begins all the shop til drop days. Not that I’ve ever really taken the plunge to regularly order things online—I always hope that an item will have an associated phone number to order that way, especially since many and much web to me at least, is hellish and nightmarish to play with. Aah did I say hellish?? For that reason, one must stock up for the stocking stuffers a major supply of the ever popular Get Out of Hell Free Cards!! Which among many shopping ideas, can be found right here and now on the Paulmigs bookmarks page. Just work your way through the alphabet down everything on the page, and I’m sure you’ll find something for all. Even things you may not have known existed, or items you’ll ask yourself if you really wanted to know if they existed (smile). And if you have run out of your prescription of Tylemall, which you should take for shopping stress, you can at least find the hellish cards at www.goof.com
More to follow. I better save this before I have to try again a third time.

And the Waters cames...

Yes, a wonderful time had as always!! We landed Friday, and the rains came. It was cool Sunday, and it began drying out some, and at least some walks round the park got done. Lots of good festives and gatherings. And arrived back here Monday to the first appearance of snow!! Which is very usual for October!!

Swansong for a Swan

Posted:

It just shows how life can end suddenly all at once. We have a swan family living in the complex on the lake, banded and kept track of at all times; even sent up north I believe, for winter protection. I gather on Saturday night, a coyote paid a visit to our neighborhood, and made off swiftly with the cob. The female mate stirred up quite a shout, and it was reported Sunday what happened. It is quite common for coyotes to appear, so one must remember to watch out for the family pets and pet neighbors.

Off to New York October 7

Posted:

It’s the autumn time of year, and time for the Guiding eyes for the blind annual alumni weekend of festivities and 15k Walkathon!! All kinds of acquaintances. Old ones seen, and new ones made. And as I’ve always figured, even without a dog at the moment, once a graduate and alumnus, ***always one to this day. It will be my fifteenth!! Time does fleefly!!
The Walk on Sunday the 9th is at FDR Park in Yorktown Heights. We’ll be at the Rennaissance White Plains, 80 Red Oak Lane. Hope to see you in the neighborhood. Give a call on the shoephone and we’ll hook up.

The Pizza

Posted:

And mighty fine food it was indeed!! All kinds of things New York and Italian on the menu, and garlic knots too!! ***And Italian ices as well!! Apparently on 9/11, all intake gets sent to 9/11 funds, and on that day, Big Bill’s pizza employees work for free. A very nice atmosphere, with no gum under the table (smile) It’s on Countyline Road and Holly in Centennial, for those wishing to find it.

Here I go with a blog!!

Posted:

My first try at this thing, too!! The Paulmigs Blah Blah Blah blog!! Hmmmm. Bet we all can’t wait for the movie to come out (smile) I figured I’d get some kind of ball rolling here. Off to Littleton this weekend, and we’ll be checking out what I’m told is quite the authentic New York type pizza place, Bill’s New York Pizza. A fella from the Bronx, with a designated Mets and Yankees eating room, and all kinds of New York treats. Don’t you just love the atmosphere of the pizza places from your home town growing up?? You know how it is. You have the pinball machine, the big metal pizza plates, and don’t forget the landmark gum under the table (smile).
Maybe he has Italian ices too??
I’ll let you know.
As always, thank you again for your time this time until next time…
